Sri Rampai
Sri Rampai LRT station is a rapid transit station in northern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, forming part of the Kelana Jaya Line (formerly known as PUTRA). The station, named after the nearby Taman Sri Rampai housing estate to the west, is located along the border between Taman Sri Rampai and Wangsa Maju to the east. Sri Rampai station as viewed on a northbound train in March 2007, revealing the location in a mothballed state with boarded-up side platforms and an unfinished interior. While construction of the station started along with the rest of the line in 1996, it was halted in 1997 due to low population in the surrounding area and the cancellation of a housing project nearby. While the rest of the line opened in 1999 with Sri Rampai station listed on transit maps, Sri Rampai was effectively a ghost station with all trains programmed to simply pass through.
On the evening of August 25, 2006, the station's tracks were inundated by water from a flash flood, disrupting services along the entire Kelana Jaya Line for several hours and causing major passenger congestion between the KLCC station and the Kuala Lumpur Sentral station. Services were gradually restored by 8:30 pm (MST). Refurbishment of the station resumed on September 2008, likely in response to new property developments in the area, including Wangsa Walk Mall and a local AEON BIG (formerly known as "Carrefour") supermarket. Work on the station was complete early December 2010, and the station began revenue service on December 24, 2010.The station is a two-level subsurface station, with the platform areas (containing two side platforms) constructed below the surface, while the rest of the structure is located above on the surface. The station is the only kind along the line to be at-grade, in comparison to other stations' elevated and underground designs.
DEVELOPER Sunway Property has recorded a take-up rate of 80% for the first tower of its integrated and freehold Sunway Avila development during a private event held at its sales gallery, which was attended by 800 priority registrants.
Sunway Avila is Sunway Property’s maiden foray into Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur.
Offering affordable urban living 6.5km from Kuala Lumpur city centre, the RM590mil development will have 810 residential units with 30 retail shops and will be connected to the nearby Sri Rampai LRT station via a covered walkway.
Sunway Bhd property development division central region executive director Chong Sau Min said, “Sunway Avila comes with functional and practical layouts for families and is a great selection for people who work in Kuala Lumpur city and commute via LRT. “It is also good for younger second-generation families who want to stay close to their families living around the area. “The price for Sunway Avila is affordable for its strategic location and its close proximity to the Sri Rampai LRT station via a covered walkway which places the development six stations away from KLCC.”
Chong added,
We believe that the overwhelming response for Sunway Avila is attributed to having launched the right product, at the right place, at the right price. “Sunway Avila is designed as family homes that come with more than 25 facilities and amenities for an urban lifestyle, close to nature. “Facilities such as the poolside cabana, outdoor yoga deck, basketball court, sky terrace and Olympic-length infinity pool offer residents great opportunities to enjoy a healthy lifestyle outdoors and enjoy the green surroundings that the increasingly popular Wangsa Maju is famed for.”
Residents are surrounded by an abundance of amenities in close proximity such as five retail centres, including Wangsa Walk Mall, Aeon Big Wangsa Maju, Setapak Central Mall, Aeon Alpha Angle and Melawati Mall; four education institutions, including SMK Taman Sri Rampai, TAR College, Sri Utama International School and Fairview International School; and healthcare facilities, including Columbia Asia Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital.
As an early-bird promotion, the residential units will be offered from RM439,000.
Sunway Avila’s units will come with practical and comfortable layouts with built-up spaces from 732sq ft to 1,227sq ft with two to four bedrooms. The maintenance fee will be kept affordable at RM0.30 psf.
Sunway Avila is targeted for completion in 2023.
